Feds Shut Down Whistleblower Line—PETA Fills the Void

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal Care office has abandoned its hotline for reporting abuse during the government shutdown, so we’re dedicating PETA staff to step in for animals.

We’re encouraging anyone who witnesses or hears about possible violations of animal-protection regulations in a laboratory, roadside zoo, circus, puppy mill, or other animal-exploiting facility to contact us at 757-962-TELL or [email protected].

We take our responsibility to defend animals, investigate abusers, and end cruelty seriously.

We’ve conducted investigations that have resulted in laboratory closures and fines, the confiscation of animals from circuses, and more. And whistleblowers have been instrumental in revealing this horrific abuse. These insiders’ bravery and compassion have resulted in shocking exposés, citations, corporate and government policy changes, and—such as in the case of the abuse of baby monkeys at the National Institutes of Health—the complete end of some cruel experiments on animals.

The identities of those who report abuse will be protected. Remember: “If You See Something, Say Something” should apply to cruelty to animals, too.
